The Pittsburgh Cooperative is also known as the Wellness Program and aims to provide food security, dignity and community to Stewart Center Families.

The program consists of two components – Physical Wellness and Mental Wellness.

The Physical Wellness program includes a Food Coop, done in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Community Farmer’s Market and Mountain Earth Farms. Through these organizations, we are able to support our families by suggesting recipes for 3 healthy and convenient meals to try at home that a local Atlanta chef writes for us. The families go home with most of the ingredients for the meals.

The Mental Wellness component of this program includes training led by professionals and counseling sessions in partnership with Care and Counseling Center of Georgia who provide mental health services to children, teens and families. In addition to these meetings, motivational speakers are scheduled to lead sessions once a quarter. Topics for these sessions are planned by the Program Director according to the need of the participants.

Participants enroll by invitation only and consist of Stewart Center families.
