The Stewart Center is the exclusive on-site after school provider for Kindezi-Gideons Elementary School. Each afternoon the Center provides homework help, academic enrichment, and character development opportunities to 200 pre-kindergarten through fifth graders. Students participate in one of three studios – Journalism, Computer Science, and Performing Arts. Studios immerse students in a field of study, build character and allow students to create products for others to use and enjoy.
The Center’s 8-week camp engages over 60 elementary students in experiential learning opportunities that focus on academic readiness, character development, and emotional maturity. The students participate in a VBS type curriculum along with academic enrichment and leadership development activities. Students select a learning community of their choice including STEM, Performing Arts, Sports, History & Culture, and more!
Youth Leadership Development
The youth program empowers young leaders through community service, character development, and employment opportunities. Because The Stewart Center values educational travel, students are selected each year to attend an End of the Year trip. In the past, we have traveled to Washington D.C., NYC, Charleston, Denver, Philly, The Grand Canyon, and Boston. These experiences allow students to learn and grow through life-changing exploration.
