Welcome to the Andrew P. Stewart Center
We are a community development organization that exists to see our neighbors living purposeful lives in pursuit of their full potential. The Center has been serving Atlanta communities since 1916. The organization provides educational enrichment, wellness resources, and affordable housing solutions to residents of the Pittsburgh community of southwest Atlanta.
Educational Enrichment
COVID-19 Response
The Stewart Center is committed to helping children reach their full potential. Although the Center is the on-site after school provider for Kindezi-Gideons Elementary School in the Pittsburgh community, the APSC programs have evolved in 2020 to meet the needs of the community.
In response to COVID-19, the Stewart Center is providing Learning Labs to over 50 students every school-day. In Learning Labs, students meet safely in small groups to participate in virtual learning with their teachers while receiving support and supervision from Stewart Center staff.
Pittsburgh Community Housing
Protecting Families
The Stewart Center’s housing initiative, Pittsburgh Community Housing (PCH), promotes personal and community transformation through strategic housing solutions. PCH families raise their children in homes that are safe, affordable, and consistent – providing children with the best chance to be successful. The Center’s housing provides families with the opportunity to remain in the neighborhood and engage with other support resources despite the rapidly rising real estate market.
Pittsburgh Community Housing’s work is more critical than ever due to the upheaval caused by COVID-19. PCH is helping our residents navigate difficult financial circumstances and providing rent and utility assistance to neighbors in Pittsburgh and the surrounding neighborhoods.
